#1003 Three Grammy Winners: Tom Paxton, Don Henry and Jon Vezner, Part 1
Three Grammy Award winners on one show! Tom Paxton, the Lifetime Grammy Achievement Award winner wrote the classic American folk tune, “The Last Thing on My Mind.” Tom Paxton is a songwriting legend…and a national treasure. Then, on the same Songs at the Center stage are Don Henry and Jon Vezner, the two Grammy Award winners who wrote “Where’ve You Been?” which was highlighted on Ken Burns’ documentary Country Music. #1004 Hannah Aldridge, Julie Williams, Melody Walker, Part 1
Hannah Aldridge, a classically trained pianist turned internationally touring songwriter, joins Julie Williams, chosen as a CMT Next Women of Country Class of 2023, and Melody Walker, who emerged from that pandemic by co-writing four songs on the Grammy-winning album, Crooked Tree, by Molly Tuttle. Hosted by singer-songwriter Eric Gnezda.

Ava Preston, who performed at the 2023 Monterey Jazz Festival, joins Americana songwriter, Delyn Christian, and JD Eicher, a nationally touring troubadour. Hosted by singer-songwriter Eric Gnezda.

#1006 Mary Gauthier, a Master Series Episode, at Nat’l Veterans Museum and Memorial
Mary Gauthier, the Grammy nominee brings her healing songs to an audience of veterans at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum. During the taping, this performance brought a very emotional audience response from veterans and non-veterans alike. The album she wrote with the help of veterans and their families, Rifles & Rosary Beads, was nominated for a Grammy Award. Accompanied on the show by singer-songwriter, Jaimee Harris, Mary is also the author of the book, Saved by a Song: The Art and Healing Power of Songwriting, which explores the art and healing power of songs and songwriting. SONGS AT THE CENTER presents a Comedy Songwriting Special, featuring three masters of the craft, radio’s favorite “Toastmaster,” Heywood Banks, and The Bluebird Café’s Sunday Songwriter’s Night host, Steve Goodie, both of whom are regulars on Dr. Demento’s outrageous radio program. Thom Schuyler presents a Master Series episode that is a primer on the art and craft of songwriting. A member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Thom wrote scores of hits, including the song that has been called “the songwriter’s anthem,” and recorded by Lacy J. Dalton, “Sixteenth Avenue.” He performs some of his biggest hits and talks about the history of his songs. Hosted by singer-songwriter Eric Gnezda.
