Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell combines two of his passions - music and trees - to bring stories of sustainable forestry to the public on a new series, "America's Forests with Chuck Leavell." The series celebrates how forest habitats enhance the well-being and economic health of communities across the country. From architects to artists, from climbers to carpenters, each episode shines a light on individuals and their love and concern for the woods around them.

#104 Wisconsin Northwoods
In this two-parter of America’s Forests with Chuck Leavell, Chuck travels through the great state of Wisconsin - on a motorcycle! First up, the magnificent Northwoods. The forests here are sanctuaries for birds like the ruffed grouse. We learn about the ancient ways of the Menominee Tribe and the modern joys of axe-throwing. I cap it all off with a musical performance with Native American musician, Wade Fernandez.

#105 Wisconsin South
On this episode of America’s Forests with Chuck Leavell, Chuck gets back on the motorcycle to continue his Wisconsin woods adventure. First up - the Urban Wood movement that turns city trees into beautiful heirloom furniture. Then … KABOOM! … as he goes behind the scenes at the Forest Products Lab, the nation's premiere site for wood research. We go to Sand County to remembering the legacy of forester and conservation hero, Aldo Leopold. And it's back to school to meet the next generation of forest fans at Log-A-Load for Kids.
