BackStage Pass features live studio and festival performances, and offers a look behind the scenes as artists reveal the inspiration behind the music. For its ninth season, the series showcases nationally renowned acts ranging from blues artist Karen Lovely, to pop-world group SIAS, to reality show contestants Jack + The Bones, and more.

#901 The Go Rounds
Michigan rock band the Go Rounds, winner of the 2016 WYCE Jammie awards for "most fun to watch" and special jury prize Album of the Year for their album "Don't Go Not Changing." Performances include "Lonely Unison," "Monica," "Do you (I Do)," and a variety of songs off their EP. Recorded at WKAR's Studio A.

#902 Luke Winslow-King
Luke Winslow-King, a classically trained blues/folk artist, won Best Blues Performer from Gambit Magazine and Best of New Orleans in 2015. Luke Winslow-King performs original songs such as, "Trouble Don't Last Always" and "Swing that Thing." Having shared the stage with the likes of Roseanne Cash, Jack White, and Taj Mahal, Luke Winslow-King brings his world class performance to WKAR's Studio A.

#903 The Harmaleighs
Mixing indie, pop, and Americana, the Harmaleighs give a unique vocal harmonizing performance. Impressing national and international crowds, their song, "I Keep Ticking On," was featured in the 2018 French film Normande Nue. Recorded at WKAR's Studio A. Haley and Kaylee play "I keep Ticking On," "Lady Brain," "Hiraeth," and more from their albums Hiraeth and Pretty Picture, Dirty Brush.

#904 SIAS
After attending Berklee College of Music, childhood friends return to their native city of Detroit and produce music out of their self-made studio, where they write and record their own music. Unlike other electronic artists, SIAS performs their electronic music live. Songs include "Stand Tall," "HEIRLOOM," "Aura," and music from their EP Origins.

#905 Karen Lovely
Winner of the Muddy Award for Performance of the Year, Karen Lovely delivers a strong blues/Americana performance at the outdoor Michigan BluesFest. Ben Rice, winner of the 2015 St. Blues Best Guitar award, completes the sound with his skillful guitar solos. Highlights includes "Hade's Bride" and "Punk Rock Johnny Cash."

#906 Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials
World-renowned Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials have been performing for nearly 30 years. Led by front man Lil' Ed with his rough-edged, soulful vocals, this group is as real and hard-hitting as Chicago blues gets. The Chicago Sun-Times says, "Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials are the hottest purveyors of bottleneck boogie to come out of Chicago since Hound Dog Taylor."

#907 Sister of Your Sunshine Vapor
Based in Detroit, this guitar, bass, and drums trio revives the psychedelic rock of the 60s and delivers it to WKAR's Studio A. Their album Spectra Spirit rocked its way onto 18 "best of 2011" lists. Inspired by the passing of friends and a near death experience of their own, "See You in the Morning" and "Sky Greece" are highlights of the show. Other songs include "Victims" and "Black Mind."

#908 Jesse Ray & the Carolina Catfish
With their blend of rock 'n' roll, blues, and punk, this duo continues to rock stages across the Midwest. Based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, their albums Gravedigger and Dead Man Walking were awarded the WYCE Jammie Award for "Best Roots/Revival Album" in 2014 and 2016. "Shakin' Feet," "Alright," and "The Road" are a few highlights of this performance at WKAR's Studio A.

#909 Jack & The Bones
Singing powerhouse Jack & The Bones feature reality show musicians Taylor John Williams and Amelia Hammer Harris bringing a taste of indie pop with “Hole in My Head,” “In the Pines,” and “Glass House,” and more. In 2014, Williams placed fifth on the The Voice, and in 2018, Harris, sung her way to the top 24 on American Idol. Now, this duo shares their story and talent with BackStage Pass.

#910 Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers
From piñatas to sword battles on stage, Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers are known for their infectiously fun show. The group has earned the chance to play alongside Bon Iver, The National, and Vince Staples at the 2018 Mo Pop Festival. With their upbeat and groovy style the group performs, “Catalyst,” “Lonely,” and other funky favorites from WKAR’s Studio A.
