Not only is it important that our public spaces are filled with images and stories that reflect the people who live here, it is important to work together to unearth and amplify the stories that are missing. The act of coming together to share stories and ideas about what it means to be a part of a place is important to the fabric of that community. Through participating in the creation of the mural we are hopeful that more people see themselves as imaginers and creators, capable of creating the world they want to live in, inspiring other forms of participation and civic engagement.
