The Role of Digital Learning in Education Today

The Role of Digital Learning in Education Today

Since 2003, the Speak Up Research Project has reported on the authentic, unfiltered views and ideas of over six million K-12 students, parents, and educators on digital learning.  What does the research tell us?
A key takeaway is that today’s students have a clear vision about their preferences for learning. The average 6th grader today is an almost perfect embodiment of the student vision articulating a strong desire for learning experiences that are socially-based, un-tethered, and digitally rich. But how well are our schools meeting the students’ expectations for new learning environments?   Are teachers prepared to effectively leverage digital tools to support a new way of learning in the classroom?

In this webinar, our special guest, Dr. Julie A. Evans, CEO of Project Tomorrow, shared the latest Speak Up research findings from students and teachers and identified new opportunities where public television stations can provide solutions, support and professional development to bridge this chasm of ideas on digital learning.
