UNC-TV’s GIRL Power! is a multi-platform campaign (on-air, online and on Instagram) that shines a light on girls who lead, mentor, impact and inspire those around them. It was launched in 2018 in conjunction with Women’s History Month. UNC-TV profiled a diverse group of 12 girls from ages 9 to 19 who embrace their GIRL Power! in a myriad of ways by recognizing and sharing their individuality, talents and strengths. During this hour, you’ll learn about the video series, which includes 22 interstitials featuring girls of all ages, ethnicities, and interests from every region of North Carolina. GIRL Power! was recently nominated for a Midsouth Regional Emmy award and has received additional funding from the funder to assist in scaling the project nationally.
