Pauline Howland & Frank Marshall Join the NETA Business Center

(June 2013) The NETA Business Center has hired Pauline Howland and Frank Marshall, two long-time public television managers, as controllers for several of the Center’s clients.

Howland is the former deputy director and CFO at Alabama Public Television.  Marshall was chief operating officer and CFO at KCPT in Kansas City, Missouri.  Each will lead a team that provides accounting, financial reporting, annual audits and benefits administration for public broadcasters and related organizations.

“We focus on delivering professional business support services to our clients,” said Anita Sims, NETA’s vice president for finance and business development, “so when the opportunity comes to add people with station experience and deep, tacit knowledge of public broadcasting to the Business Center, we’re delighted to do so. Pauline and Frank have had successful careers and know how to operate in an atmosphere of constant adaptation.”

Howland and Marshall are the most recent former station employees to come aboard the NETA Business Center staff.  The senior managers there include Karen Button, former CFO and vice president for finance and human resources at KCPT/Kansas City, David Crouch, former president of South Carolina ETV, Larry Dankner, director of administration at WUFT/Gainesville, and Neal Kittredge-Boles,  the coordinator of finance and business support at WTVI/Charlotte, and Steven Mandel, director of financial control and contract management at Thirteen/WNET.

The NETA Business Center was created in 1999 to save stations money by providing outsourced  accounting and financial support services for public broadcasters.  The 22-person office now serves 18 public television stations and 12 related organizations and projects from its headquarters in Columbia, South Carolina.
