The Joint Licensee Group is a forum where joint noncommercial radio and television licensees share and discuss issues of mutual interest and concern that could affect the way they manage and operate their organizations.  It is designed to help joint licensees position their organizations for the future, and to be successful in change management.

Through organized discussion and action, the Joint Licensee Group has the potential ability to influence decision-making and results at local, regional and national levels around identified issues that need a forum for collective discussion and resolution.

The Joint Licensee Group works with the founding members of public television's Affinity Group Coalition.  Although joint public radio and television licensees have always collaborated on community, regional,
and national levels, this group of stations was formally organized in 2005.
