    The experiences of the crew of a converted French trawler teach science and mathematics skills.  Throughout the voyage, an oceanographer, marine biologist, teenage assistants, a deaf college student, and the captain’s grandson construct hypotheses, make observations and measurements, and collect and analyze date.
