    1. “Conservation Close-up” - Part 1 shows scientists and veterinarians at Florida’s Miami Seaquarium working to help the endangered West Indian manatee.  Part 2 explores conservation efforts at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. (28:44)

    2. “It’s a Wild Life”- Part 1 includes a trip with a wildlife biologist to Everglades National Park to find a diamondback terrapin.   Part 2 goes to the Salinas Dunes of California in pursuit of the black legless lizard. (27:02)

    3. “Generations of Science” - Part 1 shows how science is changing zoos and captive breeding programs.  Part 2 goes to Howard University where a biological anthropologist is studying an African burial ground in New York City. (27:41)

    4. “Competitive Edge” - Part 1 reveals how scientific research improves the performance of golf clubs.  Part 2 goes to Nike’s Biomechanics Lab to see how infrared imagery, slow motion photography, and impact displacement affect shoe designs. (26:40)

    5. “Rocks and Shocks” - Part 1 shows how computer created stress tests are used for the shock absorbers for mountain bikes.  Part 2 visits the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History to see geologists’ techniques for analyzing rock specimens. (27:02)

    6. “Forest Through the Trees” - Part 1 goes above the Columbia River Gorge where a tree physiologist is using revolutionary methods to study treetops.  Part 2 shows how a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologist is restoring trees and other plants along the Sacramento River. (27:06)
     
    7. “Storm Patrol” - Part 1 includes a trip along the Monterey Coast in a truck that is equipped to chart storms and make weather forecasts.  Part 2 shows how engineers repair damaged levees to protect the Sacramento River Delta in California, an important habitat, recreation area, and drinking water source.     10. “From Ground Up” - Part 1 goes to the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose where exhibit developers show how an interactive science center is created.  Part 2 goes to the Oakland

    11. “Hiking to Work” - Part 1 shows how a wildlife technician at Yosemite National Park works to eliminate problems caused by human encounters with the park’s black bears.  Part 2 goes to Mount St. Helens where a botanist/forest ecologist shows how lakes and forests are recovering from the 1980 volcanic eruption there.     12. “G-Force” - Part 1 goes to the Indianapolis Speedway where a Nissan Motorsports automotive engineer demonstrates how racecars are designed.  Part 2 visits NASA’s Ames Research Center and a mechanical engineer who is conducting experiments that will help humans live longer in space.     13. “Floating Cities” - Part 1 goes aboard an aircraft carrier to meet an air traffic controller who demonstrates the intricacies of guiding a jet to a safe landing on a rolling carrier deck.  Part 2 shows how U.S. Navy submarines are built at the General Dynamics Electric Boat Corporation in Connecticut.
