series includes content from the physical, earth, life/biological, space, and computer
sciences and introduces scientific methods to solve problems. Students learn to classify data, identify
variables, design experiments, formulate hypotheses, and make inferences. Each program is in four 15-minute (approximate)
segments. |

- Episodes
1. In The
Case of the Unknown Stink, students join the tree house detectives to detect the
source of an unpleasant odor. They learn
about the sense of smell and NASAs Atmospheric Science research. (58:20)
2. The Case of the Barking Dogs shows how the tree house detectives use
scientific inquiry to determine why neighborhood dogs are barking. They learn how sound is transmitted and how humans
and animals hear. (56:50)
3. The Case of the Electrical Mystery addresses how electricity is generated
and explains current, circuits, and distribution. (58:30)
4. The Case of the Challenging Flight shows how the tree house detectives use
household materials to build an airplane and learn about lift, thrust, drag, and gravity.
