    Mobile DTV –Where Are We Today?
   
The Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) recently completed the mobile DTV
    broadcast standard. The Open Mobile Video Coalition, the broadcasting industry, and
    professional and consumer equipment vendors continue to develop products.  Trials and
    testing are underway, and many stations are moving to implementation.  Catch up.

 Public TV content draws a larger audience than public radio, yet the underwriting revenue
    generated pales in comparison.  What's wrong with this picture?  It's time to shake up the

    Partners offer recommendations to revitalize the underwriting value proposition with
    cross-platform selling for today and new media applications for tomorrow.

   Public Media in Columbus, OH,  Penn State Public Broadcasting, and Wisconsin Public Television

   platforms, including Web, podcast, VOD, and television broadcast.

Introducing:   A financial literacy curriculum that is linguistically and age-appropriate for adult
   ESL (English as a Second Language) students.   KQED project supervisor and master teacher
   Maxine Einhorn will showcase lessons plans and the accompanying new media tools drawn
   from public TV programming and online resources on financial literacy.

Doug Eichten and Craig Oliver of DEI share their 2009 study of fundraising performance at
   more than 100 stations, both joint licensees and radio-only stations, modified to make the
   information valuable for TV stations as well.
  
Learn how stations of all sizes performed before and during the current economic crisis. Share
   information from station leaders on their plans to survive and thrive in revenue development

PTFP -- They are from Washington, and they're here to help.
  
As traditional broadcasters rely more and more on IT, and equipment with considerably shorter
   lifespans, how will you be able to keep up with your capital equipment purchases?  Where will
   the money come from?  Sit down with NTIA's William Cooperman to discuss PTFP funding
   opportunities, and find out what the next grant cycle will consider funding.  This is also
   a great time to get any of those pesky PTFP questions answered.

RttT, i3, BTOP -- it’s hard to tell the stimulus funding players without a scorecard.  APTS will
   report on what’s happened to date and what’s to come.  Several licensees involved in proposals

File Verification Tools and How the PBS Media Operations Center Uses Them

   There is a growing need for automated toolsets that are hardware-agnostic and flexible in design
   to fit in different file-base workflows. Wendy Allen from the PBS Media Operation Center will
   present their design and vision for managing file verification by reducing dependency on
   manual, subjective quality control, using automated QC, streamlined workflows, and cost
   effective operations.
